Atif’s roots in entertainment run deep and reach back 6 generations in Harlem, NY.  His family ties to music and entertainment are notable. His maternal Great Grandfather, William Teachey’s organization back in the mid 50’s was known for their “Dances” at the legendary Savoy Ballroom and later by the 6o’s and 70’s the Harlem famous  Renaissance Ballroom (The Renny), and also Boat Rides on the Hudson. Even more notable were Harlem’s well known and ever popular annual “4th of July Bus Rides” (cook-outs) to upstate New York. His paternal Uncle, William Ray aka “DJ BILL BLAST”  is a Harlem pioneer in his own right while during the late 7o’s to mid 80’s playing the stage at the ever famous Harlem block parties where mixing for Hip Hop pioneers; the Sugar Hill Gang, Whodini, and Kurtis Blow was standard business.

Atif is professionally trained in music, computer technology, business development, marketing,  finance and holds a degree in Political Science.  He solidified his own calling in music and entertainment in the 90’s by becoming a very popular radio personality; “DJ Saleem” on  Rhode Island’s highly rated 90.3 WRIU Radio hosting the Thursday Afternoon Top 10 Countdown a Hip Hop/R&B radio show. Here he was also very involved in the promotion and production of  the *Future Shock Dance Party* annual concert series.  Booking big names as Boogie Down Productions, and Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam became the norm. He was able to spin off a mobile DJ service “Mighty Sasquatch Sound System” with his maternal uncle; Robin Hunt; one of the the pioneers behind the groundbreaking Underground Hip Hop access cable show…“NIGHT SESSIONS TV – NSTV”.

Atif became anCEO executive member and later President  of a Rhode Island based organization “UHURU SASA” whose mission was to supply the African-American community with social outlets. While holding the office of President for several years, thru his leadership, training, raw skill and ability to put together an effective team, Atif added more events to the yearly social activities roster.  These included fashion & talent shows, dances at area  pubs and annual holiday dinners where DJ Finesse was always a commissioned favorite.

Atif later moved to Atlanta, GA.  While working  as the Assistant Manager of “Karats Rhythm and Blues Nightclub”, a favorite of downtown Atlanta bar hoppers, he became the key producer and director of “Karats Diamond Divas” a once a week  Cabaret Drag show.  During this time  he was approached by two dynamic women.  That union came to create; “Luscious Catering..The Taste is in the name”.  Atif sought the expertise of his close friend, Carlton Brown; Proprietor of  Atlanta’s very successful “Occasional Occasions by Carlton“. Luscious Catering immediately obtained several great clients including Dwight Eubanks, owner of the high profile salon “The Purple Door” and recurring cast member of “Real Housewives of Atlanta”. After assisting the new catering company in business development, Atif moved on to other clients.

After relocating to Washington, DC, Atif immediately secured a position at an international non-partisan foundation. Where, he received beyond reproach training from his supervisor Sharon Edwards in upscale event planning and logistics.  Democracy Award Dinners and Open House Galas at U.S Embassies (state side) for over 1500 attendees and international conferences  consumed that training, and soon Atif was master of  his event planning skills.
